Mindfulness has been used for thousands of years for promoting a general sense of ‘wellbeing’. Mindfulness –based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) has been clinically shown to reduce relapse rates into depression. It combines cognitive therapy with most of the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course, which has been shown to be clinically effective in reducing stress and anxiety, as well as promoting improved sleep, an increase in disease-fighting antibodies, and improvements in some physical conditions.
